บุญ ฉันมีแต่คงไม่ถึง
 bun chan mii dee gong mai tung
my good deeds is not enough

ฟ้าจึงไม่เวทนา
faa jung mai weenaa
(so that) heaven doesn’t sympathize with me

คอยเฝ้าแต่คอยทุกครา ดวงจันทรา
 kooy fao dee kooy tuk kraa duang jan
I always keep waiting for the moon

ไม่ลอยเลื่อนมาใกล้เรา
mai looy luen maa klai rao
(but)it doesn’t float to come close to me

คงแหงนคอยแต่คอยหาย
kong geeng kooy dee kooy haay
I remain to look up at it , just only waiting for it to fade away

เสียดาย ดวงจันทร์ไม่บรรเทา
sie daay duong jan mai buratao
It is pity that the moon doesn’t ease,
ลอยลับไม่เหลือแม้เงา
looy lap mai lue mee gao
it has faded away , has not remained even a shadow

รู้หรือเป่าว่าเรา นี้ช้ำชอกฤดี
