Summary:

Bill Willingham's whimsical series utilizes just about every childhood fable in a tale of exile and persecution. The Fables, who include such notables as the Big Bad Wolf and Snow White, had their Homeland overtaken by a mysterious villain known as the Adversary. With their world enslaved, many of the Fables were able to escape to our world -- New York City to be exact. Though they live secretly among us, the Fables must continually deal with the drama of their lost home and the political instability of their new home, Fabletown.

Bill Willingham was born in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, in 1956. His father being an army sergeant major, Bill Willingham moved a lot from base to base when he was young. He became a comic writer, creating series such as 'Elementals', 'Ironwood', 'Coventry', 'Proposition Player' and 'Fables'. He has worked together with artists like Lan Medina, Steve Leialoha, Craig Hamilton, Mark Buckingham, and Mike Leeke. As an artist himself, he contributed to titles such as 'Aquaman', 'Iron Maiden' and 'Green Lantern'.
